The official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina are Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian. All three of them belong to Slaven group of languages. These three languages sounds pretty much the same but there are very small differences that will be noted only by local people. Differences mostly relate to pronunciation and are similar to those between British and American English. In Bosnia and Herzegovina you will find both alphabets - Latin and Cyrillic. Cyrillic is only used in Republic of Srpska and even there almost all people are familiar with Latin as well. However, you will find many people in urban areas to speak English or German.
